HYDERABAD, Sept 13: Provincial Police Officer Syed Kamal Shah has said the Police Order, 2002, will be implemented by Sept 30 as directed by Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali.

Talking to this correspondent at the residence of Sindh Auqaf, Zakat and Ushr and Religious and Minority Affairs Minister Dr Irfan Gul Magsi here on Saturday, he said out of 16 district public safety commissions to be formed under the police order, nine had already been formed.

He said a police complaint authority would be formed after setting up the remaining DPSCs. He said the DPSCs were important watchdog bodies over the police.

Answering a question whether there was a need of making amendments to the 2002 Police Order, Mr Shah said the police order was comprehensive. He dispelled the impression that the provinces had reservations over the police order.
